Mukul Kulkarni has been providing guidance for vocal training for SAAZ Music for the last few years and will continue to do on a long term basis. He has helped to develop a training syllabus based on the Gwalior-Agra tradition maintaining authentic raag based Indian classical music traditions and repertoire. Mukul ji visits the UK once a year, usually in the summer months. During this trip, he performs many concerts all over the UK through SAAZ Music, as well as teaching events such as workshops, intensive training sessions, and one-to-one lessons.

Mukul ji started learning Hindustani classical vocal music at the age of 10. His initial training started with Shri N G Paramane and then with Smt. Sukhada Kane, Kolhapur. He then received training from Dr. Vikas Kashalkar, completing his Master’s degree in Music from the University of Pune, being awarded a Gold Medal for achieving the highest ranking. Mukul ji is currently receiving training (taleem) from Pandit Arun Kashalkar (Agra-Gwalior Gharana). He has also received training from the late Pandit Sharad Sathe on traditional bandishes of the Gwalior Gharana. Mukul ji has a large repertoire of traditional old khayals of the Gwalior Gharana as well as tapkhayal and tappa. As an upcoming artist, Mukul ji is widely recognised for his command of Indian classical vocal music and travels extensively in India for performances. He is a ‘Top grade’ artist of Indian classical vocal (khayal), awarded by All India Radio, and his music is broadcast regularly on Tarang Radio.
